The rapid advancement of cell and gene therapies (CGTs) brings complex operational challenges that traditional healthcare frameworks struggle to accommodate. Operational archetyping—categorizing treatment centers based on distinctive operational characteristics—emerges as a critical strategy to standardize management practices, optimize resource allocation, and address logistical intricacies inherent to CGTs. This paper presents a detailed exploration of operational archetyping, highlighting its conceptual framework, strategic benefits, and a real-world case study illustrating its successful implementation. Findings demonstrate that adopting an archetype-driven approach enhances operational consistency, resource efficiency, scalability, and overall therapeutic delivery, thereby facilitating broader and more effective deployment of CGTs.
